Generally all curtains that come down from the side of the stage are called Legs and they are used to help frame the stage action from left to right. A Curtain who is at the top of the stage and used to hide the lighting pipes or very top of a piece of scenery is called a Border. Using a combination of legs and borders a stage can be reconfigured to hide the technical elements that the director/designers don’t want the audience to see.
